Fully funded PhD programme at The University of Edinburgh

Fully funded four-year PhD programme in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at The University of Edinburgh   This 4-year PhD programme aspires to educate the next generation of leaders and influencers in regenerative medicine. Regenerative medicine aims to discover novel strategies to treat disease by replacing or regenerating damaged cells. The programme, based at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair (IRR), will deliver a broad range of cross-disciplinary training to equip graduates with the skills to drive the potential of regenerative medicine into advancements in human health. Students will receive training from world-renowned experts in stem cell research, tissue repair and regenerative medicine. The programme will be embedded within IRR’s Postgraduate Training Framework. Specific training and networking opportunities, including visits to leading research centres in Hong Kong through summer schools, will foster a programme-specific cohort for Martin Lee Doctoral Scholars. They will receive training in good research practice, scientific reasoning, research ethics and the critical assessment of research papers. Students will carry out two 12-week research projects and disseminate their findings through written and oral presentations. Years two to four: PhD research project After the rotation projects, students will select their PhD topic and design a detailed research proposal under guidance of their supervisor. Projects will span the breadth of research areas at IRR, ranging from fundamental science to clinical translation projects. Students will receive training and support in state-of-the-art research facilities. Our students will become well-rounded graduates, skilled in working across various disciplines underpinning stem cell and regenerative medicine and equipped to take on challenging roles within academic, healthcare or industrial environments. Banach Scholarship Programme

This year, the existing scholarship programmes that are a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA in the form of Polish development aid, i.e. the Banach Scholarship Programme and the Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, are merged into one scholarship programme for young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland.The objective of the Programme is to promote socio-economic progress of developing countries by raising the level of knowledge and education of their citizens in the form of scholarships for second-degree studies in Polish or in English at Polish universities supervised by the Minister of Education and Science in the field of engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences, and life sciences.The NAWA scholarship may be applied for by citizens of the following countries: Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.In addition, the citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan can complete second-degree studies in the fields of humanities and social sciences under the Programme, with the exception of philological studies in the field of the beneficiary’s native language.The Programme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange in the form of Polish development aid.
