In addition, there is a monthly flat-rate study fee of €300 euros, which all scholars can freely use. Depending on the applicant’s situation, scholars may also receive a contribution to health insurance of up to €71 and long-term care insurance of up to €15 per month. Scholars with children can receive a family allowance of €155 euros per month. The scholarship does not have to be repaid.

PhD Scholarship in Resource Management

Queen Mary University of London invites applications for a full PhD Scholarship starting in January 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to undertake research in the area of Resource Management for Edge/Serverless Computing.Recent technological developments and paradigms such as Serverless computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and processing at the network edge, bring new opportunities for Cloud computing. However, they also pose several new challenges and create the need for new approaches and research strategies, as well to revisit the models that were developed to address issues such as scalability, elasticity, reliability, latency, sustainability. Emerging technologies such as Edge and Serverless Computing and the IoT present new challenges which cannot be easily met by current resource provisioning and scheduling techniques, frameworks and mechanisms. Our future research aims to develop systems using the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques which will be capable of supporting these technologies to meet the requirements of modern IoT applications.About this Scholarship This studentship will explore the intersection of Edge/Serverless and ML/AI for modern IoT applications. The scope of the project is quite broad. Applicants are encouraged to suggest their own interest and refine the research direction accordingly.The PhD will be supervised by Dr Sukhpal Singh Gill and will be based in the Networks Research Group, an interdisciplinary group with strong publication record and high international impact, which is part of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London, UK.All nationalities are eligible to apply for this studentship. Would you like to work at the German Parliament?If you are from Central, Eastern or South-Eastern Europe, France, Israel, North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific or the Arab region, then the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) at the German Bundestag could give you the opportunity to experience how the Bundestag works over the course of five months, with three of these spent working in a Members office.Each year, the German Bundestag, in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin, offers around 120 scholarships to young university graduates from 50 countries. Ireland Fellows Programme - AfricaThe Ireland Fellows Programme enables early to mid-career professionals from eligible countries, with leadership potential, to benefit from a prestigious, world-class, quality education contributing to capacity building. It offers selected students the opportunity to undertake a fully funded one-year master’s level programme at a higher education institution (HEI) in Ireland. The award covers programme fees, flights, accommodation and living costs. Eligible master’s level programs in Ireland commence in August or September each year and, depending on the programme, will run for between 10 and 16 months.
