Best UK Scholarships for International Students 2022-2023 | More than 1500 UK scholarships for international students are available at UK top universities for academic year 2022-2023. These scholarships provide average monthly stipend of £2000 along with tuition fees, accommodation charges, health insurance and travel allowance.
The UK government offers hundreds of scholarships, bursaries and additional financial support to students from several countries. You can visit the UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs) website to find out if you are eligible for a scholarship.
Many institutions also offer their own financial assistance, and you can check their websites for more information.
Best UK Scholarships for International Students 2022-2023:
1. A.S. Hornby Trust Scholarship | UK Scholarships for International Students
This year, as an addition to its main scholarship programme, the A.S. Hornby Educational Trust is offering a scholarship to support the teaching of English to refugees for experienced teachers who are themselves refugees, or have previously held refugee status, and are currently teaching English to refugees or asylum seekers in the UK.
The scholarship funds study on the one-year Masters in TESOL at the University of Warwick.
- The scholarship covers all costs in the UK including a monthly stipend to cover accommodation and living expenses, tuition fees, and return air tickets, visa and language test costs.
- Eligible applicants for the scholarship award must have at least three years’ full-time English language teaching experience and a full university degree. Applicants also require the level of English proficiency stipulated by the university.
- Hornby Scholarships are intended to support experienced English language teachers who have the potential to make a significant future contribution to English language teaching and teachers in their countries. We accept applications from countries listed in the DAC List.
2. Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships | UK Scholarships for International Students
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships are an incredible opportunity to study in a country with world-leading universities and a long tradition of academic excellence. Our chosen scholars are people who aspire to become influential leaders in their future careers. They have wide ranging interests outside their studies and a desire to broaden their personal and academic experience in Scotland.
The scheme offers up to 50 awards, each worth £8000, towards tuition fees for any one year of full time study on a postgraduate Masters programme at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions.
Scholarships are available to citizens of the following countries: Canada, China (including Hong Kong), India, Japan, Pakistan and USA.
3. Chevening Scholarships | UK Scholarships for International Students
Chevening Scholarships enable outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the UK. Whilst there is no ‘typical’ Chevening Scholar, we are looking for the kind of people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide the solutions and leadership needed to create a better future.

4. Commonwealth Scholarships | UK Scholarships for International Students
Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships are aimed at talented individuals who have the potential to make change. The CSC offers around 800 awards for postgraduate study and professional development each year.
These awards are offered under six development themes:

- Strengthening global peace, security and governance

- Access, inclusion and opportunity.
5. GREAT Scholarships | UK Scholarships for International Students
GREAT Scholarships offers scholarships from UK universities, across a variety of subjects for students from 18 countries.
Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year taught postgraduate course.
Each scholarship is jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council with participating UK higher education institutions.
As part of the programme, all GREAT scholars will be invited to a welcome event in the first semester and a networking event in the second semester.
6. British Council scholarships for women in STEM | UK Scholarships
Are you a woman with a degree or PhD in a STEM subject and passionate about your study? You could receive a scholarship to study a master's degree, or an early academic fellowship, in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics programme at a leading UK university.

7. Global Wales Scholarships | UK Scholarships for International Students
Global Wales are pleased to be able to offer four different scholarship programs for international students interested in studying in Wales. These scholarships are available to students from North America, India, Vietnam and EU countries (please note - different scholarships have different nationality eligibility criteria).
- The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship is Wales’ flagship scholarship programme, designed to help support international students wishing to pursue a Masters degree at a Welsh University.
- Gilman-Global Wales Awards for US undergraduates seeking a period of study in Wales.
- Global Wales Fulbright Awards for the most able US students to pursue Masters degrees in Wales.
8. Gates Cambridge Scholarship | UK Scholarships for International Students
Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2022-2023 is a fully funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is offered for masters and PhD studies. This scholarship provides £17,848 stipend per annum, health insurance, academic development funding up to £2,000 and family allowance up to £10,120.
For 2022 Gates Cambridge will give 80 full-cost scholarships to exceptional candidates from outside the United Kingdom to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any topic accessible at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round.
9. Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships | UK Scholarships
The Gilbert and Marcia Kotzen Scholars Program is a competitive merit award that recognizes the best and brightest students interested in a transformative education at Simmons University.
This is the most prestigious award offered at Simmons, and acknowledges excellence through focus on study abroad, scholarly research, and intellectual curiosity.
The Kotzen Scholarship provides full tuition, room & board, plus an additional $3,000 for academic pursuits such as study abroad, research support, and more. This scholarship is awarded for the duration of a four-year period of full-time undergraduate study, and supersedes any previously awarded merit scholarship.
10. Imperial College London PhD Scholarship | UK Scholarships
If you are a high performing undergraduate or Master's student and have a strong desire to undertake a PhD programme at a world-class research institution, you could be selected to receive full tuition fees and a generous stipend for a PhD place at Imperial College London.
The President’s PhD Scholarships provides up to 50 research students the opportunity to work within their chosen research field with the support of an excellent supervisor.
For the 2022-23 academic year, the earliest start date for funded places is 1 August 2022, the latest start date is 1 November 2022. Both full-time and part-time study on the scholarship is available.
11. GEMS International Undergraduate Scholarship | UK Scholarships
GEMS International Undergraduate Scholarship offers eligible students £2,000 per year (£8,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.
As an exclusive GEMS Education UniConnect Partner, the University of Stirling works in close partnership with GEMS schools in Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
We love welcoming students from all over the world to the University of Stirling, and our GEMS International Undergraduate Scholarship offers eligible students £2,000 per year (£8,000 over four years) towards the payment of annual fees.
If you are eligible for this award, your annual fee payments will automatically be reduced by £2,000.
Please note, applicants requiring a Student visa will still be required to pay the International Tuition Fee Deposit as part of the standard admissions process.
12. University of Bristol Think Big Scholarship | UK Scholarships
University of Bristol offers think big scholarship for international students. This scholarship is available for undergraduate and masters studies and provides the recipient with up to £20,000 which can be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.
If you apply for this scholarship, you will also automatically be considered for any other University of Bristol international scholarships that you are eligible for. You do not need to submit two separate applications.
13. University of East Anglia Scholarship | UK Scholarships
Scholarships are usually awarded based on a student’s academic excellence, and in the form of a tuition fee reduction. The amount awarded may vary. Some require a separate application form to be completed for consideration, whereas others automatically consider applicants who have already been offered a place on their course.
Students receiving a scholarship that covers their full tuition fees may have the deposit waived, if they provide the Admissions Office with a copy of their scholarship award. Students studying at INTO UEA may also have their deposit waived.
14. Rotary Peace Fellowship Program | UK Scholarships
Rotary Peace Fellowships 2023-2024 are fully funded scholarships for international students. These scholarships are only offered for masters studies. Rotary Peace Fellowships Program covers tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation and all internship and field-study expenses.
Rotary Peace Fellowships are designed for professionals with work experience in international relations or peace and conflict prevention and resolution.
15. University of Edinburgh PhD Scholarships | UK Scholarships
The University will offer PhD scholarships for students starting their PhD research at the University in the 2022-2023 academic session.
In order to attract the best and brightest PhD students, the University seeks to offer not only unparalleled research facilities and superb supervision, but also to provide development opportunities which will support our research students as they progress beyond their PhD, through an exciting scholarship scheme.
Each scholarship covers the University tuition fee as well as a stipend of £16,062p.a. Subject to satisfactory progress, the scholarships are awarded for between three and four years as agreed by the School/Deanery (or pro-rata for part time).
16. Goldsmiths International Response Scholarship | UK Scholarships
Goldsmiths International Response Scholarships are fully funded scholarships for international students. The scholarship is offered to undergraduate and masters studies. This program covers accommodation fee waiver, £8,825 for each year of study and tuition fee waiver.
You must meet the general eligibility criteria and regulations. You must also:
- Have refugee status in the UK, or have an active application for asylum in the UK (you will be required to provide documentation to demonstrate your status). Supporting documents should be uploaded to your MyGoldsmiths account.
- Be holding an offer of study on an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths.
17. Global Excellence Postgraduate Taught Scholarship | UK Scholarships
Postgraduate Taught Global Excellence Scholarships have been created to support students wishing to develop their academic potential and contribute to our thriving University community of students and staff from over 170 countries.
Global Excellence Scholarships recognize high academic achievement and assist scholars in accessing our exceptional teaching and learning, whilst taking advantage of all that University life offers to support their ambitions for the future. A range of full, £10,000 and £5,000 scholarships are on offer.
18. Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence Scholarship | UK Scholarships
Awarded on the basis of academic excellence, the Deans Award for Academic Excellence Scholarship aims to reward students with strong academic credentials and a demonstrable background of achievement and success.
Each of the Faculties will award eight scholarships worth £5,000. The awards are available for full-time taught master's courses and can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.
To apply, you must hold an offer from the University of Bath for a full-time taught master's course starting in 2022. The course must be based in the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences or Faculty of Science.
This scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities (UK and International applicants).
19. Global Leaders Scholarship | UK Scholarships
The Global Leaders Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and future leadership potential. Applicants should demonstrate excellent team working skills and have a strong vision for the future.
The awards are available for full-time taught master's courses and can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

20. Cambridge University MBA Scholarship | UK Scholarships
The Boustany MBA Cambridge Scholarship is granted once every two years for a one year course at Cambridge University, Judge Business School.
The Scholarship offers the following:
• Financial aid amounting to £30,000 towards tuition fees
• Travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.
Candidates must have an excellent academic background and show considerable promise. Although the Scholarship can be awarded to candidates of any nation, priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent.
Candidates may apply for the Scholarship only after receiving an offer of admission from the Cambridge MBA programme.
The next Scholarship will be awarded for the class commencing Autumn 2022.
21. University of Reading Empowering Change Scholarship | UK Scholarships
The Empowering Change Scholarship is awarded to a number of scholars who have demonstrated their suitability for the scholarship and have a track record of outstanding academic achievement. The scholarship provides £5,000 to contribute towards living expenses and £5,000 in tuition fees reduction making this scholarship package worth a total of £10,000. This scholarship is designed to support well-rounded students from a World Bank member developing country who want to create socio-economic change, using what they have learned through their postgraduate studies with GIIDAE.
22. Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships | UK Scholarships
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is an institution for the advanced study of Islam and the Muslim world. The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning. At Oxford, it contributes to the multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary study of the Islamic world. Beyond Oxford, its role is strengthened by an international network of academic contacts. The scholarship will cover 100% of course fees and a grant for living costs (at least £15,609). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. Awards may be offered in conjunction with other sources of funding, although this will be taken into account when determining the value of the award.
