Accounting Manager - Shuwaikh, Kuwait

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will hold a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting and finance department. Their core responsibilities will focus on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all financial operations and reporting. They are expected to provide effective leadership to the accounting team and work closely with senior management.
The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Leadership & Supervision: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, lead a team of accountants, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to deadlines and professional standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ensure their accuracy and compliance with local (Kuwaiti Accounting Standards) and international standards (IFRS) if applicable.
- Accounting Cycle Management: Supervise the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, accruals, and prepayments.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitor actual performance against budget, and prepare variance analysis reports.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and commercial laws in Kuwait. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audit processes and provide required documentation.
- Policies & Procedures: Develop and improve internal accounting and financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide valuable insights to management for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are a significant advantage and sometimes a prerequisite.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of practical experience in accounting and finance, with proven experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role (e.g., Chief Accountant, Accounting Manager).
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in accounting and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of tax laws and commercial regulations applicable in the State of Kuwait.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet challenges.

The workplace is located in the Shuwaikh area, a major industrial and commercial zone in Kuwait, home to numerous companies, factories, and institutions, making it a strategic location for professionals.
