Job Description

The successful technician will be placed within the company's fabrication department, responsible for a range of technical and precise tasks related to processing acrylic products. Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Acrylic Fabrication & Shaping: Cutting, bending, polishing, and bonding acrylic sheets and forms according to required specifications and designs with high precision.
• Reading & Comprehension: Ability to read and understand technical schematics, engineering drawings, and work orders provided by the design team or management.
• Finishing & Installation: Completing final finishes on products and performing installations when needed, ensuring high quality and a professional appearance.
• Basic Maintenance: Maintaining and calibrating the tools and machinery used in the fabrication process (e.g., saws, heating ovens, polishing tools) to ensure their efficiency and safe operation.
• Quality Control: Inspecting finished products to verify compliance with agreed quality standards and specifications before delivery.
• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety procedures in the workshop environment, and the safe handling of materials and tools.
• Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with colleagues in design, production, and delivery departments to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements & Qualifications

Speed Line Printing Press is looking for candidates with the practical experience and technical skills necessary to perform this role effectively.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven prior hands-on experience in acrylic fabrication or shaping or a similar field (e.g., plastics, signage, or fine carpentry). Experience in a printing or advertising production environment is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of using tools and machinery for cutting, bending, and bonding acrylic (e.g., circular saws, laser cutters, heating ovens, polishing tools, etc.).
• Good understanding of the properties of different acrylic materials and how to handle them.
• Precision and attention to detail to achieve high-quality finished products.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Physical fitness to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing and lifting light to medium-weight materials.
• An Added Advantage: Experience in related areas such as sign installation, acrylic engraving, or working with other engineering plastics.
