The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is inviting applications for the position of Area Sales Manager at its headquarters in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for ambitious sales and marketing professionals to join one of the most vital national institutions responsible for managing and developing government investments in Oman.

Job Overview

The Area Sales Manager will hold a pivotal leadership role within the sales and marketing structure of the Authority. This individual will be primarily responsible for leading and developing sales activities within a defined geographical area or specific investment sector, aiming to achieve financial targets and enhance the growth of the Authority's investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and plans for the assigned area, aligning with the overall strategic objectives of the Oman Investment Authority.
  • Lead and guide the area sales team, providing supervision, training, and necessary support to help them achieve their targets.
  • Identify new investment opportunities and build strategic relationships with potential clients, including institutional investors, and international and local partners.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial evaluation to deal closure and post-deal follow-up.
  • Prepare periodic reports and analyses on sales performance within the area, presenting them to senior management with recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor market trends and competition within the region, adapting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure full compliance with the internal regulations and policies of the Oman Investment Authority and all applicable laws in the Sultanate of Oman.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) will be a strong added advantage.
  • Proven practical experience of at least 7-10 years in sales or business development, with a focus on investments, financial services, or the institutional sector.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role (Sales Manager or similar) with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of the investment environment in the Gulf region and international financial markets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all management levels.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and market reports and make strategic decisions based on them.
  • Full proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate the team and build a collaborative spirit.
