Job Description

The Asset and Configuration Management Expert will hold a strategic position responsible for designing, implementing, and governing IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Service Configuration Management (SCM) processes. You will ensure all infrastructure components—hardware, software, and services—are accurately documented, monitored, and reviewed, supporting business objectives and ensuring compliance with internal standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework and strategy for IT asset and configuration management.
• Manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure the accuracy and currency of all Configuration Item (CI) information.
• Identify and monitor dependency relationships between various system and service components.
• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams to integrate configuration management processes into the Service Lifecycle.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the actual configuration state complies with the recorded and planned state.
• Analyze the impact of proposed changes on existing services and assets.
• Prepare reports and analytics on asset and configuration status to support decision-making.
• Contribute to the improvement of Change Management and Incident Management processes by providing accurate configuration data.
• Train users and stakeholders on asset and configuration management policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT Asset Management and/or Service Configuration Management, with proven experience in managing and developing a CMDB.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL principles and best practices, specifically Configuration Management and Asset Management processes.
  • Hands-on experience with specialized tools such as ServiceNow CMDB, BMC Helix, Micro Focus uCMDB, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of the IT Service Management (ITSM) lifecycle and its relationship with configuration management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Strong analytical abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
