Job Description
The Assistant Sales Manager at NOVOTEL will be a key support pillar for the sales team, contributing to the development and execution of sales strategies to drive room occupancy and hotel revenue. This role will report to the Sales Manager or Revenue Manager and will be responsible for a range of operational and tactical tasks.
Key expected responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly sales plans, and revenue forecast reports.
- Tracking and analyzing sales performance against set targets and providing recommendations.
- Prospecting for new sales opportunities and developing a lead pipeline in target market segments (e.g., Corporate, Travel Agents, Groups & Events).
- Supporting the preparation of quotations, contracts, and presentations for potential and existing clients.
- Assisting in organizing and hosting client visits and site inspections at the hotel.
- Maintaining the customer database accurately and updating sales activities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Collaborating with other hotel departments (e.g., Front Office, F&B, Kitchen) to ensure exceptional guest experiences and meet client requirements.
- Participating in trade shows and hospitality industry events as required.
- Providing regular reports on market activity and competitor analysis.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Proven work experience of at least 2-3 years in hospitality sales or service-oriented sales.
- Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written). Knowledge of Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong business relationships.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Hotel Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera) and CRM systems will be a significant advantage.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- A dynamic, results-oriented personality with a proactive mindset.
