Business Director - Media Planning at Starcom, Riyadh
Starcom, a world-renowned media agency and a key part of the Publicis Media network, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Director for Media Planning to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Role Overview
The Business Director will serve as a central leader in driving and developing Starcom's media planning business. You will be responsible for leading a specialized team to design and execute integrated, innovative media strategies that meet client business objectives and exceed expectations. This role operates at the forefront of client service, focusing on deepening strategic partnerships and aligning media planning with the broader brand vision.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive, data-driven, and innovative media plans for key client partners.
- Team Management & Development: Guide, lead, and mentor the media planning team, fostering talent and ensuring a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as a primary strategic partner to clients, developing a deep understanding of their business and translating their objectives into effective media strategies.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the execution of multi-channel media campaigns (TV, Digital, OOH, etc.), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze campaign performance, delivering clear and actionable insights to clients and senior management, and recommending continuous optimizations.
- Innovation & Development: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging media technologies, integrating best practices and new opportunities into client plans.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A proven track record of 7-10 years in media planning or related strategic roles within an established advertising or media agency.
- Prior leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of the media landscape in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, with a preferred local network.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all traditional and digital media channels, planning tools, and measurement platforms.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to derive strategic insights.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) in English; proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and excel under pressure.
- A university degree in Marketing, Media, Business Administration, or a related field.
