Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Buying Manager will undertake a range of core duties, including but not limited to:

• Developing and Implementing Procurement Strategy: Formulating comprehensive procurement plans and strategies aligned with the overall business objectives and financial sustainability of the group.
• Managing the End-to-End Procurement Cycle: Overseeing the entire process from needs identification and purchase requisitions, through supplier sourcing and negotiation, to purchase order issuance and receipt follow-up.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Researching and evaluating new suppliers, building long-term strategic partnerships with key vendors, and conducting regular performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and contractual agreements.
• Cost Control and Negotiation: Leading contract negotiations with suppliers to secure the best value (price, quality, payment terms, services), contributing to cost reduction and profit margin improvement.
• Ensuring Quality and Compliance: Guaranteeing that all purchased materials and goods meet required specifications and standards, and complying with internal policies, procedures, and local laws and regulations.
• Market and Inventory Analysis: Monitoring market trends and raw material prices, analyzing inventory data to forecast demand and minimize risks of stock-outs or overstocking.
• Team Leadership: Supervising the procurement team (if applicable), providing training and guidance to help them achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS) will be a strong advantage.
• Work Experience: Proven experience of at least 5 to 7 years in procurement or supply chain management, with a progression into leadership roles. Experience in the retail, FMCG, or diversified trading group sectors is preferred.
