Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Dry Utilities CAD Draughtsman will play a pivotal role within the design and engineering team, responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and supporting documentation for dry utilities infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Creating and developing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for dry utilities systems, with a focus on power and telecommunications networks.
• Working closely with engineers and designers to understand technical requirements and translate conceptual schematics into precise construction drawings.
• Reviewing and modifying existing drawings based on engineering team feedback or changing project requirements.
• Ensuring all drawings comply with relevant local and international standards, as well as project-specific specifications.
• Organizing and managing the project's drawing sets and technical documents in a structured and easily retrievable manner.
• Assisting in the preparation of quantity reports and technical schedules related to the design.
• Participating in coordination meetings with other discipline teams to ensure seamless integration of utilities systems with the project's structural and architectural elements.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or technical qualification in an engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Computer-Aided Design (CAD), or equivalent practical experience.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in drafting and designing Dry Utilities systems, specifically secondary power and telecom networks. Experience on major infrastructure or construction projects in the GCC region is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software, especially AutoCAD. Knowledge of software such as MicroStation or Revit will be a strong advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of the technical principles and standards for dry utilities systems (cables, conduits, cabinets, transformers).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics, architectural, and structural drawings.
• Personal Skills: Accuracy and attention to detail, ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
