Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The appointed Category Specialist will join a specialized team and be responsible for a range of strategic and operational tasks focused on optimizing and developing a specific category within the company's operations. The core responsibilities expected for this role include:
- Category Management: Developing and implementing integrated strategies for a defined category to enhance performance and profitability.
- Market & Data Analysis: Conducting in-depth market research, analyzing competitor trends, and studying customer behavior to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
- Planning & Development: Contributing to offer planning and service development within the assigned category, in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Building and managing strategic relationships with key suppliers or partners to ensure service quality and optimal terms.
- Process Optimization: Proposing and implementing initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs within the category scope.
- Reporting: Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and preparing regular analytical reports for management to present results and recommendations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field. A Master's degree may be an added advantage.
- Work Experience: Proven experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar role such as Category Specialist, Product Manager, or Business Analyst, preferably within the services, human resources, or a fast-paced industry.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights. Proficiency with data analysis tools like advanced Excel and BI software is essential.
- Strategic Skills: A solid understanding of category management principles and strategic marketing.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and internal/external teams.
- Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a strong advantage in the UAE job market.
- Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated, results-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
