Job Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be the primary officer responsible for all financial and accounting functions of the company. Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Financial Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company's comprehensive financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting processes, and provide in-depth financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Treasury & Finance Management: Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, securing necessary financing, and managing liquidity and interest rate risks.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations in Bahrain. Supervise internal and external audit processes.
- Cost Control & Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction to enhance profitability.
- Risk Management: Develop and manage a comprehensive framework for financial and operational risk management.
- Team Leadership: Guide and lead the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Investor Relations: Where applicable, contribute to investor relations communications and fundraising activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Academic Credentials: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. A Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CA are a strong advantage and often preferred or required.
- Experience: Proven track record of at least 15 years in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Finance Director, VP of Finance). Prior experience as a CFO is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax regulations, and corporate laws in Bahrain and the GCC region.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team inspiration abilities, with a proven history of building and developing high-performing finance departments.
- Analytical & Strategic Skills: Superior financial analysis and strategic formulation skills, with the ability to translate complex strategies into actionable plans.
- Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, including the Board of Directors and external stakeholders.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
