Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Civil Engineer will be responsible for the technical and administrative aspects related to the design, construction, and maintenance of high-voltage electric power transmission lines. Core expected responsibilities include:

• Design and Analysis: Participating in the design and routing of new transmission line projects, including load calculations, selection of appropriate materials (towers, conductors, insulators), and ensuring compliance with technical specifications, international standards (such as IEC, IEEE), and local Kuwaiti regulations.
• Construction Supervision: Providing field supervision for the construction and erection of transmission lines and their towers, ensuring work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and stringent quality and safety standards.
• Project Management Support: Contributing to project schedule planning, monitoring progress, and coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and the multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Quality Assurance & Safety: Conducting regular inspections to ensure material and workmanship quality, and enforcing strict adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental protocols at all project stages.
• Reporting: Preparing detailed periodic technical reports on work progress, non-conformities, proposed solutions, and presenting them to management.
• Asset Inspection & Maintenance: Assisting in assessing the condition of existing transmission assets and developing preventive and corrective maintenance plans.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree in a related field (Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering) is a distinct advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in transmission line engineering or related civil works for power infrastructure. Previous experience within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in engineering design software like AutoCAD, and structural analysis programs (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000). Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a plus.
