Civil Engineering Project Manager (General Contractor)

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful Project Manager will be entrusted with a comprehensive set of vital responsibilities to ensure the operational and financial success of projects. Key duties include:
- Overall Project Leadership: Overseeing all project phases, including initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure. You are the accountable leader for turning blueprints into tangible reality.
- Planning & Scheduling Management: Developing detailed and comprehensive project plans, defining precise timelines, allocating resources efficiently, and establishing realistic budgetary estimates. This includes preparing regular progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control: Directly leading on-site teams, including engineers, supervisors, and laborers, to ensure all work is executed according to approved technical specifications, designs, and local UAE building regulations. A strong focus will be on quality assurance and meticulous attention to detail.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Selecting, coordinating, and managing the performance of various suppliers and subcontractors. This involves contract negotiation, invoice review, and ensuring all parties meet their contractual obligations.
- Budget & Cost Control: Meticulously monitoring project financial expenditures, controlling costs, identifying any deviations from the approved budget, and taking necessary corrective actions to ensure the project's financial profitability.
- Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensuring a completely safe working environment for all personnel on site by enforcing and implementing stringent safety protocols and full compliance with applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations in the UAE.
- Stakeholder Communication & Risk Management: Acting as the central liaison between the client, design consultant, internal project team, and relevant local authorities. It also involves identifying, assessing, and managing potential risks that could impact project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements

- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) is a significant advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in civil engineering project management, with a strong focus on working for general contractors. Experience must include managing medium to large-scale construction projects (e.g., residential/commercial buildings, infrastructure) from start to finish.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building materials, and UAE structural codes and regulations. Strong proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Leadership & Personal Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and management abilities with a proven track record of leading and motivating diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- High discipline, meticulous organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
