Job Overview

The Complex Director of Marketing holds a critical strategic role, bearing full responsibility for planning, executing, and leading all marketing and communications activities for the Marriott luxury hotel in Manama. This leader will be accountable for building and enhancing the property's brand image, attracting target guests, and driving revenue through innovative and integrated marketing strategies. The position works closely with the senior management team, sales, and revenue departments to achieve commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing plan and detailed budget aligned with the property's strategic goals and those of Marriott International.
  • Lead the hotel's brand strategy to ensure consistency and reinforce its luxury positioning in the local and regional market.
  • Oversee all digital and traditional marketing channels, including social media management, SEO, content marketing, and advertising campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with advertising agencies, PR firms, and external vendors to ensure maximum return on investment.
  • Continuously analyze market data and competitive performance to identify opportunities, threats, and propose proactive action plans.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create effective promotional materials and support their efforts in attracting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and leisure guests.
  • Lead and develop the on-property marketing and communications team, providing mentorship and support to enhance their performance.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management on campaign effectiveness and revenue contribution.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of at least 7 to 10 years in marketing, with a significant portion within the luxury hospitality or hotel sector.
  • Leadership experience in a marketing management role (e.g., Director of Marketing, Regional Marketing Manager) for a hotel or hotel group.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management tools).
  • Strong knowledge of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets, particularly Bahrain, is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
  • A leadership personality capable of motivating a team and performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
