Qualifications and Core Requirements
To be a qualified candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Academic Credentials: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Data Science or Machine Learning are a strong plus.
- Professional Experience: Proven experience of 3-5 years in a Data Scientist or Quantitative Data Analyst role, with preference given to experience in the financial, technology, or compliance/risk management sectors.
- Advanced Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with expertise in data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Experience with database querying and SQL.
- Deep understanding of machine learning techniques, statistics, and exploratory data analysis.
- Ability to visualize data using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts and big data processing is advantageous.
- Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of regulatory and compliance principles, especially in the Middle East context, is crucial. Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT) regulations will be highly regarded.
