Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Construction Manager (Structures) will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of major construction projects, with a core focus on the structural elements of buildings and facilities. Core responsibilities include:

• Leadership & Planning: Lead the on-site construction team, including contractors, engineers, and supervisors. Develop detailed project execution plans with a focus on schedule, budget, and resource allocation for structural works.
• Quality & Safety Management: Provide direct oversight of all structural work phases (reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, etc.). Ensure strict compliance with design specifications, local and international building codes, and the most rigorous occupational health and safety standards.
• Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the client, design consultant, subcontractors, and the internal project team. Provide regular progress reports, manage risks, and resolve any technical complexities arising on-site.
• Cost & Schedule Control: Monitor expenditures related to structural works and ensure adherence to the approved budget. Manage the construction schedule effectively to deliver the project on time or ahead of schedule.
• Quality Assurance & Testing: Supervise inspection and testing procedures for structural materials (concrete mixes, rebar, structural steel) and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

J10 Consulting is seeking a candidate with a proven track record in managing major structural construction projects.

Essential Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. A Master’s degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer status) will be a strong advantage.
• A minimum of 10 years of practical experience in construction management, with a strong focus on managing and executing structural works for large-scale projects (e.g., high-rise towers, bridges, industrial plants, or complex infrastructure projects).
• Proven experience working within the UAE or GCC market, with in-depth knowledge of local building systems and regulations (Dubai Municipality standards, Civil Defense requirements, etc.).
• Comprehensive knowledge of project and construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD).
• Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage diverse, multicultural teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in English. Arabic language skills are highly beneficial.
