Job Description and Responsibilities

The successful consultant will hold a leadership position within the Oncology Department and will be responsible for providing specialized and comprehensive medical care to adult patients with malignant oncological diseases. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, specialist nurses, and clinical pharmacists.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing and developing comprehensive, personalized treatment plans for cancer patients, utilizing the latest evidence-based international protocols.
• Prescribing and managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and hormonal treatments.
• Closely monitoring patients during treatment and effectively managing side effects.
• Participating in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to discuss complex patient cases and make collective treatment decisions.
• Supervising resident doctors and medical students, providing professional guidance and mentorship.
• Contributing to continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives within the department.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following high professional standards:

• Educational Qualification: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized university.
• Specialization and Certification: Completion of an accredited specialist training program in Medical Oncology. Board Certification/Fellowship in Medical Oncology from a GCC country (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE) or a globally recognized prestigious body (such as American, British, Canadian, or Australian Fellowship in the specialty) is an essential requirement.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid medical practice license from a Gulf country, or be eligible to obtain a license from the Qatar Supreme Council of Health/Ministry of Public Health.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of post-certification practical experience, with a proven track record of practicing medical oncology in a major academic hospital or cancer center.
• Personal Skills: Exceptional communication and patient management skills, with the ability to work as a team player in a multicultural environment. Empathy, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a strong advantage.
