Job Description and Responsibilities

The Factory Manager will bear the overall responsibility for overseeing all daily operational activities within the manufacturing plant. The primary objective will be to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products while adhering strictly to safety standards and applicable local and international regulations. Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and Strategic Planning: Lead and manage the factory workforce effectively, including production supervisors, technicians, and line workers. Develop operational plans and strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve the overall efficiency of the plant.
• Production and Operations Management: Directly supervise manufacturing processes from raw material receipt to finished product packaging. Ensure production runs according to set schedules and required quantities.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Implement and manage comprehensive Quality Control (QC) systems across all production stages. Ensure products comply with company specifications, the highest international standards, and relevant local regulatory body regulations (such as the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology - ESMA) and other cosmetics industry regulations.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in the workplace. Ensure the factory's compliance with all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Resource and Budget Management: Oversee inventory management of raw materials and finished goods. Contribute to the preparation of the factory budget and monitor operational expenditures to stay within allocated limits.
• Development and Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance productivity, product quality, and waste reduction. Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles where applicable.
• Coordination with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments such as Sales, Marketing, Procurement, HR, and R&D to ensure factory operations are aligned with the company's overall objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related manufacturing field. A Master's degree may be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years of proven experience in a leadership role (Factory Manager or Production Manager) within the cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or high-health standard FMCG industry. Experience in the Gulf or UAE market is a significant plus.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cosmetics manufacturing processes (e.g., lotions, creams, liquids). Strong knowledge of Quality Management systems (e.g., ISO 22716, GMP). Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Leadership and Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and team motivation abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both Arabic and English. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and make quick, decisive decisions. Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Managerial Skills: Experience in budgeting and cost control. Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and office productivity tools.
