Country Manager - Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Sector

Abdulwahed Bin Shabib Investment Group LLC is pleased to announce a distinguished career opportunity for ambitious professionals to join its team in the position of Country Manager, operating within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector in the State of Kuwait. This role is a pivotal leadership position based in Al Jahra, bearing the responsibility for leading and developing the strategic and operational business of the company in the competitive Kuwaiti market.

Job Overview

The Country Manager will be the primary executive responsible for the Group's FMCG operations in Kuwait. The focus will be on driving profitable growth, enhancing market share, and ensuring operational excellence across all business facets. This role serves as the critical link between the Group's overarching strategy and its on-the-ground execution, requiring a deep understanding of the local market and the dynamics of the retail and consumer sector in the Gulf region.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive country business plan and strategy for the FMCG sector, aligned with the Group's overall objectives for growth, revenue, and profitability.
  • Business Performance Leadership: Assume full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for operations in Kuwait, including achieving sales, revenue, and budgetary targets.
  • Sales & Distribution Management: Lead and develop sales and distribution teams to ensure optimal market coverage, exceptional customer service, and building strong relationships with key channel and retail partners.
  • Operational Planning: Oversee all day-to-day operations including supply chain management, inventory, logistics, and ensuring cost-efficient effectiveness.
  • Market & Brand Development: Identify new growth opportunities, expand market presence, and strengthen the Group's brand portfolio within FMCG categories.
  • Team Leadership & Talent: Build, guide, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous collaboration.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with all local Kuwaiti laws and regulations across all business aspects, and proactively manage operational and financial risks.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular and accurate reporting to senior Group management on financial performance, market developments, strategic initiatives, and challenges.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: A proven track record of 10-12 years in senior leadership roles (such as Country Manager, General Manager, or Regional Sales Director) within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. Prior experience in the Kuwaiti market or the wider GCC market is a significant competitive advantage.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a recognized management qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and influencing abilities, with a documented history of building and managing cross-functional teams and delivering tangible results through them.
  • Business & Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and P&L management, coupled with a strong analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategic & Operational Skills: The ability to develop strategy and translate it into actionable plans, with attention to operational detail.
  • Communication & Relationship Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to build robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Personal Attributes: A dynamic, adaptable, and results-oriented personality with a proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Work Location

The primary work location will be in Al Jahra, State of Kuwait. The role may require limited local travel within Kuwait.
