Job Description
The Cybersecurity Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing comprehensive security strategies and frameworks to protect the company's information assets and sensitive data. He/She will work within a specialized team to counter evolving cyber threats and ensure compliance with the highest security standards in the region.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Security Architecture Design: Develop and design an integrated architectural framework for information security that aligns with business objectives and addresses modern risks.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Establish and enhance security policies, technical controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Risk & Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in infrastructure and applications.
- Security Project Leadership: Oversee the implementation of new security projects and solutions, such as Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), next-generation firewalls, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Guidance & Consultation: Provide security consultancy to the IT team and other business units to ensure "security by design" principles are integrated into all projects.
- Incident Response: Contribute to developing and improving cyber incident response and disaster recovery plans.
- Stay Updated: Remain current with the latest cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent. A postgraduate degree (Master’s) is a strong advantage.
- Globally recognized professional certifications in cybersecurity, such as:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- SABSA (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture)
- TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
- Or advanced certifications from technology vendors (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, AWS, Azure).
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in the information security field, with a strong focus on security architecture or design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex security solutions in enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of security models (Zero Trust, Defense in Depth), and security standards (ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), operating systems, and application security.
- Experience with security assessment tools and automation.
