Computer world W.L.L is currently seeking to hire a dedicated Data Center Operator to be based at their headquarters in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Job Description

The Data Center Operator will be assigned to the IT operations team, primarily responsible for the continuous monitoring and primary maintenance of the data center infrastructure. He/She will work under the supervision of the IT Manager or direct supervisor to ensure the smooth and secure operation of server and network systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Continuous Monitoring: Monitor the performance of server systems, networks, storage devices, and cooling (HVAC) systems within the data center using dedicated monitoring tools.
• First-Level Technical Support: Respond to automated alerts and fault reports, perform initial diagnostics, and accurately log incidents in the support ticketing system.
• Routine Maintenance: Execute scheduled periodic maintenance tasks such as data backups, system log reviews, and applying core software updates under guidance.
• Physical Asset Management: Assist in tracking and maintaining physical components within the data center, including servers, network cables, and UPS units.
• Compliance and Procedures: Adhere to strict data center security and safety procedures, access control protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Reporting: Document all activities, incidents, and maintenance procedures in daily or weekly reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Education: A diploma or university degree in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of practical experience in an IT support or data center environment is preferred. Fresh graduates with strong academic performance and hands-on training may also be considered.
• Technical Skills:
  • Basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, or Linux).
  • Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts (e.g., IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Ability to handle basic hardware components (cable routing and connections, hard drive replacement, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and follow instructions precisely.
  • Willingness to work in shifts that may include weekends or night hours as required.
  • High reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
