Job Overview

The Director of Ventures will play a pivotal role in Redesign Health's expansion strategy in the Middle East, with a focus on the Saudi market, which is undergoing a radical transformation fueled by Vision 2030. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the end-to-end lifecycle of new venture projects, from opportunity identification and feasibility studies, through operational model design and fundraising, to launch and scaling. The Director will work closely with executive teams, investors, and local partners to translate innovative ideas into successful and scalable healthcare startups.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Opportunity Identification: Conduct deep market research to uncover gaps and unmet needs within the Saudi and regional healthcare system, identifying promising areas for innovation and company creation.
• Venture Strategy Development: Lead the process of developing comprehensive business plans for new ventures, including financial modeling, go-to-market strategy, operational structure, and risk analysis.
• Execution Leadership: Oversee the initial stages of company formation, including building the core team, developing the minimum viable product (MVP) or service, and preparing for commercial launch.
• Partnership and Relationship Management: Build and cultivate a strong network of relationships with investors, strategic partners, service providers, and sector experts in the Saudi healthcare ecosystem.
• Leadership and Guidance: Provide direction and oversight for ventures in their early stages, offering strategic and operational support to ensure they meet defined milestones.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Medicine, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification is a significant advantage.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare venture capital, business development, management consulting within the health sector, or in a leadership role at a health tech or healthcare startup.
