• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for ductwork systems.
• Measuring, cutting, and shaping sheet metal (galvanized steel or aluminum) used for fabricating air ducts.
• Installing and assembling sections of ductwork according to precise technical specifications.
• Securing joints using appropriate screws (bolts), sealants, or other fastening methods to ensure system airtightness.
• Installing thermal and acoustic insulation around ducts as required.
• Repairing and maintaining existing ductwork systems.
• Collaborating with other technicians and supervisors on-site to ensure work is completed on schedule and to quality standards.
• Strict adherence to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures at the worksite.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a suitable candidate for this position, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Proven previous practical experience as a Duct Fitter or in general sheet metal work.
• Practical knowledge of ductwork fabrication and installation methods.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade (sheet metal snips, screwdrivers, drills, etc.).
• Physical fitness to perform tasks involving prolonged standing, lifting weights, and occasionally working at heights.
• Teamwork spirit, reliability, and attention to detail.
