Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Electrical Engineer will perform a range of key technical and administrative tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Design and Studies: Participating in the design of electrical systems for various company projects, preparing drawings and technical specifications, and conducting necessary electrical studies and calculations.
• Supervision of Execution: Providing field supervision for the installation and commissioning of electrical systems on project sites, ensuring compliance with standard specifications and safety requirements.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing faults and technical issues in existing electrical systems, developing preventive and corrective maintenance plans, and ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
• Procurement and Contractor Management: Assisting in preparing bills of quantities and specifications for electrical equipment, evaluating supplier and contractor bids, and monitoring work execution with third parties.
• Compliance with Standards: Ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations in electrical safety and construction, such as IEEE codes and applicable Omani regulations.
• Coordination and Teamwork: Working closely with other teams such as civil and mechanical engineers, as well as with clients and stakeholders to meet project requirements.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the field of electrical engineering, with preference given to experience in contracting, consulting, or industrial company environments. Experience in the Omani or Gulf market is a distinct advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of power systems, distribution systems, control systems, lighting, and electrical protection. Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD and electrical system simulation software.
• Personal Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to work within a team and in a multicultural environment. Accuracy, discipline, and the ability to manage time and work under pressure.
• Professional Certifications: Holding a professional certification such as "Professional Engineer" or project management certifications (e.g., PMP) will be highly regarded.
