Job Description & Responsibilities

The Overhead Transmission Line Electrical Engineer will be a core member of the engineering team, undertaking a range of important technical and administrative tasks and responsibilities, including:

• Design & Engineering: Participating in the design and review of high-voltage overhead transmission line layouts, ensuring compliance with international standard specifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and applicable local standards in Kuwait.
• Supervision of Execution: Field supervision of the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of overhead transmission lines and their components (towers, conductors, insulators, protection devices).
• Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensuring the application of the highest standards of quality and occupational safety throughout all project phases, and preparing periodic technical reports.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing faults and technical issues in transmission lines and providing effective, swift engineering solutions to ensure the continuity of power supply.
• Coordination: Working closely with other teams (such as Civil Engineering, Procurement, and Contractors) to ensure harmony and integration in project execution.
• Documentation Preparation: Preparing technical specifications, feasibility studies, cost reports, and technical bids related to transmission line projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree or specialized professional certifications will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in overhead transmission line engineering, with preference given to experience in high-voltage (132 kV or above) power grid projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of power transmission and distribution principles, protection systems, and overhead line materials and hardware.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in using relevant engineering design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, ETAP).
• Soft Skills: Ability to work within a team, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to manage time and handle pressure.
• Mandatory Conditions: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Applicants must possess a valid residency in the State of Kuwait and be eligible for transfer of sponsorship.

Work Location

The primary work base will be in Al Ahmadi area in Kuwait, with regular field visits expected to project sites across various regions of the country.
