Employee Relations Specialist - Doha, Qatar

Job Description
The Employee Relations Specialist will hold a pivotal role within the HR team, acting as the primary responsible for fostering and maintaining positive, effective working relationships between management and employees. This individual will serve as a vital liaison to ensure workplace harmony and compliance with local and international policies and regulations.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management: Addressing employee inquiries and grievances with confidentiality and impartiality, and acting as a mediator to resolve workplace conflicts and disputes constructively.
- Policy Development: Contributing to the development and updating of HR policies and procedures related to employee conduct, discipline, and workplace ethics, ensuring fairness and transparency.
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring the company's full compliance with Qatar Labor Law and all relevant regulatory statutes, providing guidance to management on the practical application of these laws.
- Investigations: Conducting formal interviews and investigations into disciplinary matters or complaints, preparing detailed and clear reports with appropriate recommendations.
- Managerial Support: Providing support and advice to line managers on all matters related to performance management, disciplinary procedures, and employee separations, in line with best practices.
- Culture Champion: Contributing to initiatives that enhance morale, employee engagement, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture within the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Law, or a related field. Advanced professional certifications in HR or Labor Relations are a strong advantage.
Work Experience:
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in Employee Relations or a similar role within an HR department.
- Prior experience working in the Qatar or GCC job market, with a deep understanding of the Qatar Labor Law and its requirements, is considered crucial and will be a primary selection criterion.
- Experience in conducting disciplinary investigations and managing complex conflict cases.
Personal & Professional Skills:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and high integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make objective decisions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
- Good knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
