NCC T&D is actively seeking a seasoned professional to fill the critical role of Engineer III - Safety within its dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. This position presents a significant opportunity for experienced engineers to immerse themselves in the vital energy sector, playing a key role in upholding the highest safety standards across major electrical transmission and distribution (T&D) projects throughout the Kingdom.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected engineer will be primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs and policies for T&D projects. They will work within a specialized team to foster a safe work environment and ensure full compliance with local and international regulations. Core responsibilities include:

  • Safety System Development & Implementation: Designing and establishing site-specific safe work plans and procedures for construction and operational activities in the transmission and distribution sector.
  • Risk Assessment & Management: Conducting regular risk assessments at work sites, identifying potential hazards, and developing effective mitigation plans.
  • Training & Awareness: Leading and organizing safety training sessions for workers, engineers, and contractors to ensure universal understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Inspection & Monitoring: Performing scheduled and surprise inspections of project sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, identify deficiencies, and ensure immediate corrective actions.
  • Incident Reporting & Analysis: Investigating any accidents or near-miss incidents, determining root causes, preparing detailed reports, and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all project operations comply with Saudi Arabian safety laws (such as regulations from the Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority) and any adopted international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into every phase of planning and execution.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a safety-related engineering discipline).
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized safety certifications is a significant advantage, such as the NEBOSH International General Certificate, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or equivalent accredited credentials.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of practical experience in safety engineering, with a strong and proven focus on electrical Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects or major electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of high-voltage systems, safe work practices with electrical equipment, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough familiarity with applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems and regulations in Saudi Arabia.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written), leadership, and influencing skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential. The candidate must be able to work under pressure and in field-site environments.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English for communication and reporting. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong additional advantage.
