Estimation Engineer - Electrical | AL MOAYYED INTERNATIONAL GROUP

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected engineer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks that support the success of the company's engineering projects. Core responsibilities include:

• Technical Document Analysis: Meticulously studying electrical engineering drawings (wiring, distribution, lighting, smart systems) and project specifications.
• Preparation of Quantity and Cost Estimates: Accurately calculating the required quantities of electrical materials (cables, distribution boards, equipment, fixtures) and estimating their costs based on market prices and suppliers.
• Bid and Tender Analysis: Examining Request for Proposal (RFP) or Tender Documents and preparing comprehensive, competitive cost proposals for new electrical projects.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination: Working closely with design engineers, project managers, and the procurement team to ensure estimates are accurate and align with technical and budgetary requirements.
• Report Preparation: Developing detailed cost estimation reports that explain assumptions, pricing bases, and any potential risks.
• Review and Update of Price Databases: Maintaining an updated database of material and labor rates to ensure estimation accuracy.
• Quality Assurance: Reviewing final cost estimates to ensure they are error-free before submission to management or the client.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in quantity surveying and cost estimation for electrical projects. Experience in a contracting or multi-disciplinary engineering firm environment is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering design and drafting software such as AutoCAD.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for creating complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international electrical standards and regulations in Bahrain and the GCC.
  • Experience with specialized estimation software (e.g., CCS, Candy, or similar) will be a significant advantage.
