Job Overview

The Facility Engineer (Mechanical) will be stationed at a client site or a facility managed by TDGISERV SERVICES. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the optimal, safe, and efficient operation of mechanical systems within the facility. This role is central to maintenance and sustainability operations, ensuring business continuity and adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of facility mechanical systems, which may include HVAC, plumbing and sanitation, mechanical firefighting systems, and pressure systems.
• Conduct regular inspections, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Manage maintenance contracts with external contractors and vendors, monitoring the quality of work performed.
• Ensure all systems and equipment comply with local Qatari regulations and safety standards (e.g., Civil Defense standards).
• Prepare technical reports on system performance, breakdown incidents, and maintenance work completed.
• Contribute to improving the energy efficiency of mechanical systems and propose upgrades and modernization.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment for the mechanical section.
• Work closely with other engineering teams (electrical, automotive) and the facility management team to achieve overall operational goals.
• Respond to emergencies related to mechanical systems outside of official working hours as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar role (Facility Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer), preferably within the services, industrial, or commercial facilities sector.
• In-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, water pumps, compressed air systems).
• Strong understanding of engineering maintenance principles and facility management.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency in basic computer software and maintenance management software (CMMS).
• Knowledge of Qatari building and safety regulations is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage.
