Job Description

The Field Operator will be stationed at one of the company's operational sites and will be responsible for a range of critical operational tasks to ensure efficient and safe plant functioning. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Continuously monitor and control plant systems and equipment via control panels and routine field patrols.
• Execute routine and emergency start-up/shutdown procedures for equipment in accordance with approved protocols and stringent standards.
• Accurately record meter and gauge readings, and prepare daily operational reports.
• Assist in performing periodic and preventive maintenance in coordination with maintenance teams.
• Identify any equipment malfunctions or operational deviations and report them immediately to supervisors.
• Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all.
• Participate in emergency drills and fully understand incident response plans.
• Work on a shift rotation basis, which may include weekends and public holidays, to ensure 24/7 continuous operation.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

ACWA Operations is seeking highly qualified candidates with relevant practical experience. Essential requirements include:

Educational Background and Experience:

• A diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Power) or an equivalent recognized technical qualification.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role (Field Operator, Control Room Operator, Operations Technician) within the power generation, water desalination, petrochemical, or similar heavy industries.
• Prior experience in combined-cycle or gas-fired power plants or water desalination facilities is a significant advantage.
• Good knowledge of safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) and environmental regulations.

Required Personal and Professional Skills:

• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions during emergency situations.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in data recording and report preparation.
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule.
• Good understanding of safe work procedures (Permit to Work, Isolation Procedures).
