Job Overview
The Field Operator will be stationed at EGA's production facilities and will be primarily responsible for monitoring, operating, and performing basic maintenance on equipment and processes within an assigned area. The operator will be part of a team working on a shift schedule to cover continuous, 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitor industrial process equipment and systems (such as furnaces, conveying systems, control devices) via control panels and direct observation.
- Perform routine operational tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure production continuity.
- Conduct periodic equipment inspections to detect any malfunctions or deviations from standards.
- Accurately record operational data readings and report on equipment status and production output.
- Assist in basic first-line maintenance and minor repairs in coordination with specialized maintenance teams.
- Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe workplace.
- Participate in cleaning work area and equipment to maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and support departments to report abnormal conditions or issues.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of new processes.
Qualifications and Core Requirements
- Education: A High School Certificate (Secondary School) is the minimum requirement. Technical certificates or diplomas in fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Process, or similar industrial disciplines are preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment, such as plants, power stations, or petrochemical facilities, is preferred. Fresh candidates with strong technical qualifications and a willingness to learn may be considered.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles. Ability to read and understand simple schematics or operating instructions.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for extended periods. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work effectively within a team and in a shift-based environment. Reliability and punctuality.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an industrial setting, which may involve prolonged standing, exposure to certain temperatures, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
