Al Nujoom Al Sahira Modern Trd is currently recruiting for the position of Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting Technician to be based in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful technician will be part of a specialized team responsible for ensuring the efficacy and reliability of fire protection systems. The core duties of this role include:
- Installation: Executing the installation of fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable) and fixed firefighting systems (such as fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and gas suppression systems).
- Routine Maintenance: Performing regular inspection and preventive maintenance of fire life safety systems in compliance with local (Oman Civil Defence) and international standards (e.g., NFPA).
- Testing & Commissioning: Testing all system components, including detectors (smoke, heat), control panels, audible and visual alarms, and water pumps to ensure full operational readiness in case of an emergency.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnosing and rectifying technical faults in the electrical and mechanical components of firefighting systems promptly and efficiently.
- Documentation: Preparing accurate technical reports for installation, maintenance, repair, and testing activities to maintain clear and compliant records.
- Compliance: Ensuring all work and systems adhere to the regulations and codes set by the Civil Defence authorities in Oman and any other applicable standards.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To be eligible for this critical technical role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety, or a related field.
- Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 2-3 years in installing and maintaining fire alarm and firefighting systems. Experience in the Omani or Gulf market is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fire alarm systems (e.g., Siemens, Notifier, Hochiki) and fire suppression systems (sprinkler, gas, foam).
- Skills: Excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Ability to read system schematics and electrical drawings.
- Certifications: Possession of recognized fire safety training certificates or licenses is a strong advantage. Must be physically fit to perform field duties.
- Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A strong commitment to safety protocols is non-negotiable.
- Other Requirements: Applicants must have a valid residency permit in Oman or be eligible for a transfer of sponsorship. Proficiency in English for handling technical manuals is required, and knowledge of Arabic is a beneficial addition.
