Job Overview

The Fleet Manager will play a central role in managing and operating the company's vehicle fleet in the Makkah region. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of fleet operations, directly contributing to the company's logistical and operational goals. This position operates in a dynamic environment requiring strong leadership and advanced analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operational Oversight: Comprehensive management of the vehicle fleet, including scheduling routine maintenance, managing breakdown repairs, and ensuring all units are operational and ready for service.
  • Cost Management: Developing and monitoring operational budgets for the fleet, controlling costs related to fuel, maintenance, insurance, and licensing.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensuring full compliance of the fleet with local Saudi regulations and implementing and enforcing strict driver and vehicle safety policies.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyzing fleet performance data, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Team Management: Leading and directing a team of maintenance technicians and operations coordinators associated with the fleet (according to department structure).
  • Vendor Management: Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with service providers such as maintenance workshops, tire suppliers, and fuel supply companies.
  • Reporting: Preparing detailed periodic reports on fleet performance, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in fleet management or logistics operations, with preference given to experience in a large, diverse operational environment.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Fleet Management Systems (FMS), vehicle tracking software (GPS), and Microsoft Office suites, particularly Excel for analytics.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Saudi laws and regulations concerning traffic, vehicle licensing, and safety.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capability in data analysis and evidence-based decision making.
