Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Florist will be stationed at a flower shop and will be the primary person responsible for the daily operations related to the sale and arrangement of floral products. The core responsibilities for this position include:

• Flower Arranging & Bouquet Creation: Designing and crafting attractive flower bouquets suitable for various occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, and formal events, while keeping up with the latest trends in floral design.
• Customer Service & Consultation: Welcoming customers and providing professional advice on selecting appropriate flowers, plant care, and indoor plants. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and fulfill customer needs.
• Inventory Care & Management: Overseeing the shop's inventory of fresh flowers, plants, vases, and complementary supplies. This involves receiving shipments, inspecting product quality, arranging them attractively, and ensuring they are stored under suitable conditions to extend their lifespan.
• Sales & Financial Transactions: Completing the sales process using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system, carefully packaging products, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop floor to ensure a pleasant customer shopping experience.
• Contributing to Marketing Ideas: Assisting in suggesting ideas for promotional offers, window displays, and seasonal designs to attract more customers.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be eligible for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Previous experience in flower sales or floral arrangement is preferred. However, candidates with a strong passion and innate talent, coupled with a willingness to learn and undergo training, may be considered.
• Technical Skills: Possess artistic and creative skills in design and color coordination. Knowledge of different flower types, their characteristics, and care requirements is a significant advantage.
• Personal Skills: Must be friendly, courteous, and able to work under pressure, especially during peak periods like holidays and special occasions. Excellent customer service skills are a prerequisite.
• Physical Ability: Capable of standing for long periods, handling sharp tools (floral scissors), and lifting boxes or containers that may be heavy at times.
• Punctuality: Reliability and commitment to scheduled work hours.
• Language: Basic knowledge of English may be beneficial, but proficiency in Arabic is required to deal with the majority of the clientele.
