Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Supervisor will be primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Italian Restaurant, ensuring the team adheres to the supreme standards of guest service and operational excellence mandated by the Four Seasons brand. Key responsibilities include:
- Operational Supervision: Directly supervise the restaurant's wait staff and host team during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless and efficient operations from guest arrival to departure.
- Service Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of service provided to guests, intervening promptly to resolve any issues or complaints to ensure complete guest satisfaction and an exceptional dining experience.
- Training & Development: Contribute to training new team members and provide ongoing coaching to the existing staff on service standards, menu knowledge, and food & beverage presentation techniques.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure the restaurant's cleanliness and setup comply with stringent health, safety, and sanitation standards. This also includes adherence to F&B service protocols and brand standards.
- Communication & Coordination: Act as an effective liaison between the restaurant floor team, the kitchen (culinary) staff, and senior management. Accurately relay guest feedback and coordinate special requests and reservations.
- Administrative Support: Assist with inventory control, monitor stock levels of consumables, and report any maintenance needs or equipment issues.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role in this luxury setting, you should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Proven previous experience of at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or Head Waiter/Captain role within a fine-dining restaurant or five-star hotel environment. Experience in Italian restaurants or specialized cuisine is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of luxury food and beverage service protocols. Good knowledge of wines and service techniques is a strong plus. Basic Italian language skills related to menu terminology are a valuable addition.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently and diplomatically with guests from diverse backgrounds. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team under pressure during peak service periods.
- Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings. The candidate must be well-groomed and possess a team-oriented spirit.
