Job Overview

The General Manager will be the primary executive responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the company's civil industrial projects. The role focuses on ensuring project delivery within the stipulated budget, planned schedule, and the highest market standards of quality and safety. The incumbent will operate from the company's headquarters in Muscat, with field travel expected as required by active project sites.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overarching vision and strategy for the Civil Industrial Projects division, aligning with the company's broader objectives.
• Project Management: Provide direct oversight of the entire project lifecycle, from initial estimation and planning, through design and execution, to final completion and handover to the client.
• Financial Management: Prepare and monitor operational and capital budgets for projects. Rigorously control costs to ensure budgetary adherence, analyze financial reports, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Team Management: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, supervisors, and support staff. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure full compliance with all local and international safety regulations, stringent quality specifications, and ethical standards across all work sites.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the principal point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and relevant government authorities. Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial working relationships.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Project Management is a significant advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in the civil engineering field, with a strong focus on industrial projects (e.g., manufacturing plants, power stations, petrochemical complexes, industrial infrastructure). This must include at least 8-10 years in senior leadership roles (Senior Project Manager, Regional Manager, General Manager).
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction standards, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA or equivalent local standards), and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large, complex teams in a multicultural environment. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong additional asset.
