Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed General Practitioner will provide primary and comprehensive healthcare services to patients at an NMC Healthcare facility. Core responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough medical examinations and providing initial diagnosis for patient conditions.
  • Offering medical consultations and developing appropriate treatment plans for acute and chronic cases.
  • Referring patients to specialists when necessary and coordinating follow-up care with other hospital departments.
  • Emphasizing preventive medicine and providing health advice to patients regarding lifestyle and immunizations.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic medical records in compliance with established protocols.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary medical team to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Adhering to the highest standards of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Completion of the required internship (housemanship) training.
  • A valid license to practice medicine in the United Arab Emirates (license from the Ministry of Health and Prevention - MOH or the Department of Health - DoH Abu Dhabi). The company may consider qualified candidates with equivalent credentials who are ready to obtain licensure.
  • Proven work experience in general practice, typically ranging from 3 to 5 years, preferably in a hospital or multi-specialty clinic setting.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills with the ability to explain medical conditions to patients in clear terms.
  • Excellent command of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking). Proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
