Generator Technician Job in Riyadh

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful technician will be deployed at client sites or within the company's workshop, with core responsibilities focused on ensuring the optimal and reliable operation of various electrical generators. Key day-to-day tasks will include:

• Performing routine and preventive inspections on electrical generators of various sizes and capacities.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnosing technical faults and malfunctions, identifying root causes of mechanical and electrical failures.
• Carrying out necessary repairs and maintenance, including replacing faulty parts such as spark plugs, filters (oil, fuel, air), engine belts, and components of fuel and cooling systems.
• Conducting scheduled servicing (maintenance) as per manufacturers' guidelines.
• Testing generator performance post-repair to ensure compliance with standard specifications and safety protocols.
• Reading and understanding electrical and hydraulic schematics for equipment.
• Providing detailed technical reports on equipment status and maintenance work performed.
• Strictly adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures at the worksite.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be a suitable candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanics, or a related technical field. Formal qualifications may be substituted with extensive and proven practical experience.
• Practical Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing electrical generators (primarily diesel generators). Experience with renowned international brands will be a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems and electrical power generation systems.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and mechanical measurement and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as effectively within a team.
• Personal Skills:
  • High reliability and strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills (Arabic is essential, English knowledge will be beneficial).
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems proactively.
  • Physical fitness to perform tasks that can be physically demanding at times.

Work Location and Conditions

The position is based in Riyadh City, the economic and commercial capital of Saudi Arabia. The role may occasionally require travel between different locations within the city or visits to client sites. This is a full-time position, subject to the terms and conditions of Saudi Arabian labor contracts.
