Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The selected developer will be integrated into a specialized technical team and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Geographic Information Systems and applications. The core responsibilities for this role are expected to include:

• Developing Custom GIS Solutions: Designing and programming GIS applications and systems that meet the analytical and operational needs of the Authority and its affiliated projects.
• Spatial Data Management: Integrating and managing geographic databases (Geodatabases), ensuring their accuracy and accessibility.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, or a similar technical discipline.
• Professional Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 3-5 years in GIS Development.
• Advanced Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Python (with libraries like ArcPy, GeoPandas) or JavaScript (with frameworks like Leaflet, OpenLayers).
  • Practical experience with GIS platforms like the ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise) and/or open-source solutions like QGIS.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
  • Understanding of User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design principles for web and mobile applications.
