Graphical Designer in Pre-Press Department - Kuwait
A leading and specialized printing company in Kuwait is currently seeking applications for the position of Graphical Designer to work within their Pre-Press department team. Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Graphical Designer will be an essential part of the production process, bearing the responsibility for the final preparation of designs before they are sent to press. The main duties include:
- Preparing and processing digital files for printing according to the highest technical standards and client specifications.
- Reviewing and proofing designs received from clients or the internal design team to ensure they meet technical specifications such as image resolution, color spaces (CMYK), and margins (Bleed and Trim).
- Correcting common file errors such as font issues, image resolution problems, or color discrepancies to ensure a perfect print outcome.
- Communicating directly with clients or sales representatives to understand their technical requirements and resolve any issues with submitted files.
- Ensuring the final quality of each project before the printing process begins, helping to reduce waste and ensure client satisfaction.
- Working proficiently with core design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
- Adhering to work and production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in the graphic design field, with preference given to those with prior experience in a printing environment or specifically in a pre-press department.
- Advanced and genuine proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Deep understanding of the printing process and its types (offset, digital, etc.), color systems (CMYK, Pantone, RGB), and file setup such as Bleed and Crop Marks.
- A keen eye for detail and a high focus on quality control, as a small error can lead to financial losses.
- Ability to manage time and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
- Knowledge of the English language (reading and writing) is an added advantage for dealing with international equipment and software.
Work Environment and Location
The designer will work at the company's main headquarters in Kuwait. Printing companies typically offer a dynamic and engaging work environment for creatives, where you are part of the process of transforming ideas into tangible reality. Working hours are expected to be regular, following a full-time system.
