Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Guest Relations Manager will hold a pivotal leadership role within the hotel, acting as the primary face for VIP guests and being accountable for ensuring a memorable stay experience. The core responsibilities of this position include:
- Leading the Guest Relations Team: Directly supervising the front office and concierge team, providing guidance and direction to ensure consistent, high-quality service at all guest touchpoints.
- Managing VIP Guest Experience: Personally welcoming VIPs and repeat guests, ensuring all their special requests are met and anticipating their needs throughout their stay.
- Resolving Complaints and Handling Special Cases: Professionally and tactfully handling any guest complaints or challenging situations, finding swift and satisfactory resolutions to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Monitoring Service Quality: Developing and enhancing service standards and procedures within the front desk and guest relations areas, and conducting regular training for the team.
- Internal Communication and Coordination: Acting as an effective liaison between various hotel departments (e.g., F&B, housekeeping, rooms) to ensure smooth information flow and operational efficiency for the guest's benefit.
- Feedback Collection: Encouraging and analyzing guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and reporting insights to senior management.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Tourism & Hospitality, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with proven experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar supervisory role (e.g., Front Office Supervisor, Chief Concierge, or Assistant Guest Relations Manager) within a luxury 5-star hotel environment.
- Personal Skills: Charismatic leadership personality with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems proactively.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in using Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential. Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage. Knowledge of a third language (such as French, Russian, or Mandarin) will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Gulf Arab culture and traditions, coupled with a refined awareness of the requirements and expectations of both international and local guests.
