Job Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for leading and developing the group-wide data science strategy, with a specific focus on managing and analyzing risks associated with the Group's diverse asset portfolio. The leader will actively translate complex data into actionable strategic insights, supporting business and investment decision-making and safeguarding the long-term value of the Group's assets.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead a specialized team of data scientists and risk analysts to build and execute a strategic roadmap for data science.
• Develop advanced analytical models and machine learning techniques to assess and manage risks linked to the Group's vast asset portfolio (including, but not limited to, real estate, retail, automotive, financial services).
• Design and manage risk performance monitoring and measurement systems (Risk Metrics & KPIs) to provide transparent, ongoing visibility into asset health.
• Collaborate closely with heads of various departments and business units to understand their needs and translate them into tangible data and risk solutions.
• Oversee the collection, cleansing, and analysis of large datasets from multiple internal and external sources.
• Present clear reports and presentations to senior management and risk committees, outlining trends, forecasts, and risk mitigation recommendations.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, risk analytics, and relevant regulations to ensure best practices.
• Manage the department's budget and ensure optimal utilization of resources and technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. will be a strong advantage.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, or quantitative risk management, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
• Proven experience in leading high-performance technical teams and developing enterprise-level data strategies.
• Deep proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, and big data processing platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong hands-on experience in building and deploying statistical and machine learning models related to credit risk, market risk, or operational risk analysis.
• Excellent understanding of financial and non-financial risk management principles.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
