Head of Network Infrastructure Operations - Starlink WLL, Doha
Starlink WLL is actively recruiting for a critical leadership position: Head of Network Infrastructure Operations, based in its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will occupy a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of the company's network infrastructure. The core responsibilities will focus on strategic and operational leadership, encompassing:
- Leadership & Supervision: Lead and manage the Network Infrastructure Operations team, guiding their efforts towards achieving the company's operational and strategic objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive network infrastructure strategy aligned with long-term business goals, considering scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking hardware, and data centers, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cybersecurity: Ensure the implementation of best-in-class network security practices to protect infrastructure from cyber threats, and maintain compliance with relevant security standards and regulations in Qatar.
- Budget & Cost Management: Prepare and manage the budget for the network operations department, ensuring optimal resource utilization and reducing operational costs without compromising performance or quality.
- Project Management: Lead network infrastructure development and upgrade projects from planning to delivery, adhering to defined timelines and budgets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT departments (such as Security, Development, and Support) and senior management to ensure the integration and alignment of all technology initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CISSP) is a significant advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing and operating network infrastructure, with at least 5 years of proven experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge in:
- Network engineering (Routing & Switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Data center and virtualization technologies (Virtualization, Cloud Computing).
- Server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Network cybersecurity concepts (Firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Network monitoring and performance management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Professional Certifications: Preference will be given to candidates holding recognized certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, or their equivalents.
- Soft Skills & Leadership Abilities:
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive change.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and make decisions under pressure.
- High-level strategic and planning skills.
- Knowledge of the business environment and regulations in the Qatari and Gulf market.
