Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Head of Sales will serve as the strategic driver of the hotel's sales efforts. This individual will be primarily responsible for leading the sales team to meet and exceed defined revenue targets. The core responsibilities of this leadership role include:

  • Leadership & Development: Leading, guiding, and motivating the sales team, including their ongoing training and development to ensure the highest levels of performance and professionalism.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing comprehensive and effective sales plans and strategies focused on key market segments (e.g., Corporate, Transient, Groups, Events, and Travel Agencies).
  • Revenue Management: Working closely with the Revenue Management department to set optimal room pricing and inventory strategies to maximize RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room).
  • Business Development: Proactively seeking new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key existing and potential accounts, including major corporates and local/international agencies.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Preparing the sales department budget and accurately forecasting revenues, while regularly monitoring performance against targets and reporting to senior management.
  • Representation: Representing the Hilton hotel and brand at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand image and generate networking opportunities.
  • Market Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing local market trends and competitor activity, adapting sales strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role at Hilton, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: A proven track record of 7 to 10 years in hospitality sales or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., Sales Manager or equivalent). Previous experience with international hotel brands is a significant advantage.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team motivation abilities, with a proven history of building high-performance teams and achieving goals through others.
  • Analytical & Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of revenue management principles and the ability to analyze financial data and market performance to make informed business decisions.
  • Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Arabic, with superior negotiation and deal-closing capabilities.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Kuwaiti and broader GCC hospitality and hotel market.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard computer software, hotel reservation systems (e.g., Opera), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
