Job Overview

The IT Business Analyst will serve as a crucial liaison between various university business units (Academic, Administrative, Financial, Student Services) and the Information Technology team. The primary responsibility will be to analyze business processes, identify needs, and develop clear technical requirements that enable the design and implementation of software and technical solutions supporting the institution's strategic goals and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Conduct meetings with stakeholders from different departments to understand operational challenges and accurately gather functional and non-functional requirements.
• Process & Solution Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Workflow Diagrams, and Process Maps.
• Facilitation & Communication: Effectively translate business needs into technical terminology understood by software developers and the infrastructure team, and vice versa.
• Quality Assurance & Testing: Contribute to developing Test Plans and ensure delivered solutions meet the agreed-upon requirements before deployment.
• Project Management Support: Participate in the lifecycle of IT projects, from planning to delivery, in coordination with the project manager.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Assist in data analysis to support decision-making and propose improvements to existing systems.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven experience of 3-5 years in an IT Business Analyst role, preferably within an educational, large institutional, or service sector environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and proficiency in using modeling tools (e.g., UML, BPMN) and requirements management tools. A good understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and e-learning platforms will be a distinct advantage.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving abilities. Negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Personal Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively in a team and a dynamic environment, and a customer-service orientation.
