Job Description

The appointed Accountant will be responsible for a range of daily and periodic accounting and financial tasks that contribute to the accuracy of financial records and the integrity of the company's financial reporting. The role will involve working under the supervision of a Financial Manager or Head of Accounting and being an integral part of a team ensuring compliance with local standards.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Duties:

• Preparing and posting daily journal entries for all financial transactions.
• Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, including follow-ups on collections and payments.
• Performing periodic bank reconciliations.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Calculating and submitting relevant tax and fee declarations in accordance with Kuwaiti regulations.
• Participating in periodic inventory and asset counts.
• Ensuring financial and accounting documents are filed in an organized and secure manner.
• Efficiently using accounting software (e.g., ERP systems).
• Collaborating with other departments to provide necessary financial and accounting support.
• Contributing to internal and external audit processes as required.

Job Requirements and Conditions

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Higher qualifications or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) may be preferred.

Work Experience:

• Proven practical experience in the accounting field, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years.
• Previous experience working within the Kuwaiti or GCC market is a significant advantage.

Personal and Professional Skills:

• Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Practical knowledge of accounting systems and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or local solutions).
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Proficiency in Arabic (the primary working language). Knowledge of English is an advantage.
