Joinery Fitout Factory Manager
Fitout Interiors & Contracting WLL is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Joinery Fitout Factory Manager for a key leadership role within Qatar's thriving construction and interior design sector. This position is based in Doha and entails full operational oversight of the company's joinery manufacturing facility.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the workforce and ensuring production efficiency and quality. Core responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Planning: Full oversight of all joinery and interior fitout factory activities, including production planning, schedule management, and ensuring adherence to project deadlines.
- Operations & Production Management: Optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity while maintaining the highest quality standards. This involves supervising wood cutting, assembly, finishing, and installation processes.
- Quality & Safety Management: Implementing and enforcing rigorous quality control programs and workplace safety protocols to ensure a zero-accident environment and meet project specifications.
- Team & HR Management: Leading, guiding, and developing a team of carpenters, technicians, and support staff. Managing personnel matters including training and evaluations.
- Resource & Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory management of raw materials (timber, fittings, adhesives, coatings), tools, and equipment. Ensuring regular maintenance of machinery.
- Budget & Cost Control: Contributing to operational budget preparation and monitoring costs to ensure the factory's financial efficiency.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Working closely with design, procurement, projects, and sales departments to ensure harmony and integration in project execution.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To be a suitable candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Practical Experience: Proven experience of 8-10 years minimum in managing large joinery or interior fitout workshops/factories, with a focus on luxury or commercial fitout projects.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil), Business Management, or a related field. Extensive practical experience may substitute for academic qualifications in some cases.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of joinery processes, wood types, machining (CNC), finishing techniques, and fitout materials.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a large, diverse team of craftsmen and technicians.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Organizational Skills: Superior organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Qatar Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable Qatar labor laws, safety, and occupational health regulations is a major plus.
