Job Description
The Junior Accountant will be placed within the Accounts Receivable department, responsible for a range of core tasks that support the company's financial cycle. The role will involve working under the supervision of a senior accountant or department manager to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of receivables operations.
Key responsibilities are expected to include:
- Issuing customer invoices and collection documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Recording customer payment receipts in the accounting system.
- Following up on overdue customer accounts, making collection calls, or sending reminder notices.
- Assisting in the reconciliation of customer account statements.
- Verifying the accuracy of invoice details and related financial documents.
- Helping to prepare aging reports and periodic accounts receivable summaries.
- Collaborating with sales and logistics departments to resolve any billing or shipment discrepancies.
- Maintaining an organized archive of all financial documents related to accounts receivable.
- Contributing to month-end and year-end closing procedures under guidance.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Accounting major) from an accredited university.
Experience and Skills:
- 0 to 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role. This experience can be through internships or a first job.
- Foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an advantage.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (skills in formulas and pivot tables are beneficial).
- Basic familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or local solutions) will be a strong plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and work effectively within a team.
- Integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
